Lake Cochrane is considered one of the cleanest lakes in South Dakota, and the LCIA's main mission is to keep it that way. In order to protect our lakes integrity, we as a community need to better understand our lakes current situation. So, the Lake Cochrane Improvement Association has recently began to compile past records of lake quality with newly gathered scientific data to improve this understanding.
